The project is aimed to introduce the best plays of the Bard to Russian audience and launch more plays.

The following plays were shown in Moscow under this project:  Hamlet – by Chamber theatre (Tel Aviv, Israel), October 2009; Hamlet – by Oskaras Koršunovas theatre (Vilnius, Lithuania), November 2009; Hamlet – by Schaubühne theatre (Berlin, Germany), September 2010. King Lear – by Nizhegorodsky young viewer theatre, November 2009; Anatomia Lear – by Anatomia Ensemble (Helsinki, Finland), March 2010.

The Theatre of Nations’ performance Romeo and Juliet, directed by V. Pankov, was shown as part of the project. It premiered on December 22, 2009. Seseg Khapsasova, who played Juliet, was awarded with a Crystal Turandot prize in a nomination “Best acting debut”.

A media conference on Schaubühne theatre road tour, dedicated to Thomas Ostermeier’s Hamlet shown in Moscow, was held on September 14, 2010.
