Natalya Nozdrina

Do you know why I love the theatre? Well, just think about it … God has given us just this one life, but the theatre gives me the opportunity to live several lives. And this is why for me the theatre has always been something bright, and actors — like celestial beings. These are difficult times for the theatre. I do hope that it will never become part of the so-called “show business” but will remain a sublime and elitist art, where the troupe is the actors' family, and the theatre — their home.

In 2006, she graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS), Department of Directing (Acting Group), Workshop O. Kudryashov.
From 2006 through 2008, she performed at the theatre “Et Cetera“ under the direction of A. Kalyagin, playing Anna in B. Brecht's “Drums in the Night” directed by U. Bayaliyev, Olya in „The Competition” (author and director — A. Galin) and Naul in “Scorched” (author and director — W . Mouawad). She also performed in various plays at the Theatre of Nations: “Bullfinches“ by N. Sadur based on the work of V. Astafyev (Masha, interpreter), “The Safety Match“ by A. Chekhov (wife of police superintendent); director: N. Grinshpun. At the Centre of Dramaturgy and Stage Direction of A. Kazantsev and M. Roshchin, she plays several roles in „Don't Part with your Loved Ones” by A. Volodin, directed by V. Rodionov. She was in the cast of the films „Life Unawares” by À. Brunkovsky, «1612» by V. Khotinenko, “Two Colours of Passion” by Ê. Foliyants, “Byla ne byla (Was, Was Not)“ by V. Dyunin, “The Life that Was Not” by L. Mazur, „My Prechistenka” by B. Tokarev, «220 Volt Lyubvi (220 Volt Love)» by Â. Filimonov.
In 2006 she received the “Golden Leaf“ Theatre Award for the best female part in a student performance of „The Trojan Women” by Euripides. I was born in the splendid and beautiful city of Vyatskie Polyany. From earliest childhood I loved playing pranks and getting into all kinds of difficult situations. It began with me sneaking off with mother's shoes and cosmetics and painting myself up from head to toe.

In school the only things I liked were literature and music. Algebra and geometry were something else again. I often tried out some of the things I knew from life at home. My father played the guitar and the bayan and so my parents sent me to a school specializing in music. But musical notations meant nothing to me because I had always played by ear. By the time this little secret was discovered I was already burning with another desire — to take up sports. What exactly? Well, track and field. Still, something was missing — maybe adrenalin, maybe courage, maybe risk.

Horse riding? Yeah! I had always loved their velvety faces and their gorgeous bodies. There's a little place in the village near our home where there's a stable. I spent all my free time there.

I never had any thoughts about theatre. That was, until a school specializing in theatre was opened in the city. I studied for two years there. The first time I came to Moscow was when I was 16 and I ended up on the third floor of GITIS in the directing department where I was admitted to the acting class of Oleg Kudryashov, a sincere, understanding and talented teacher.

A whole new life began, one that was independent, filled with new friends and acquaintances. Most importantly, we studied from morning to night — and I must say, I already miss that. I adore my master teacher, our other teaches and our crazy, unorthodox class.
